May 2024 – Seeking God

Seeking God

In a recent interview about his book, Is God Real?, Lee Strobel said that it was found that “200 times a second around the clock, someone on Planet Earth is typing into a search engine, basically the question: Is God Real?”

I find that statistic to be both sad and encouraging. Sad because so many people don’t believe that God is real but encouraging that they are seeking for God. We have seen evidence of this in our clubs.  This past semester some of our clubs have doubled in attendance!

God tells us that no one seeks Him on their own (Romans 3:11).  So, the fact that people are seeking God is evidence that God is working in their hearts to seek Him! But the heartening truth is that God also seeks us (Luke 19:10)! It makes me think of a child who has become lost from his parent; while the child is looking for his parent, the parent is looking for his child. But the seeking does not end when a child finds God or is found by Him. No, Psalm 105:4 instructs us to “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his face continually.” And again, “You will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart.”  (Jeremiah 29:13). Even as believers, we are to seek Him continually!”

One thing I love about CEF® is that we are part of bringing the two seekers together. Not that this is our own doing, but a privilege that God has given us. This is why this ministry is not only for the seeking unbelieving child, but also for the seeking believing child. I am praying, and I ask you to pray also, that God will send many seeking children to our camps this summer.

Sincerely,

Linda
