Pennsylvania Volunteer Requirements
We take child safety seriously. Not only do we provide training to our staff but we also require background checks for all of our volunteers. All volunteers with Child Evangelism Fellowship of Schuylkill County in Pennsylvania must complete several background checks including:
- A state criminal record check.
- A child abuse history form.
- An FBI clearance or affidavit.
Steps to Complete Clearance Forms
- Request for Criminal Background Check may be completed online by going to https://epatch.pa.gov/TandCVolunteer
- Please click on "New Volunteer Record Check"
- You will be asked to agree to a terms and conditions page, simply agree and follow the steps after that.
- If you would prefer to complete the criminal background check by mail the Request for Criminal Background Check may be downloaded here, print it out and return it by mail.
- Mail to: Pennsylvania State Police Central Repository - 164 1800 Elmerton Avenue Harrisburg PA 17110-9758
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Check may be completed online by going to https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis/public/home
- This will require you to create a username and password.
- If you would prefer to complete the Pa Child Abuse History by mail the form can be accessed by clicking on the following link: PA Child Abuse History Clearance.
- Mail to: Childline and Abuse Registry Department of Public Welfare PO Box 8170 Harrisburg PA 17105-8170
- FBI Clearance: If you have lived in PA for the last 10 years or more, complete an affidavit swearing to that fact. (You will not need to complete the FBI Clearance) The affidavit can be found here. Please sign and return to the CEF office.
- If you have not lived in PA for the last 10 years, you must be fingerprinted. First call Child Evangelism Fellowship of Schuylkill County at 570-544-8042 and you will be given the needed service code. Then go to www.uenroll.identogo.com and follow the instructions.* Click the "Department of Human Services" tab.
- *Volunteers: When asked for a service code on IdentoGo use 1KG6ZJ. This is the DHS volunteer service code and includes ALL volunteer services. For more information please go to https://www.dhs.pa.gov.
- **Summer Missionaries: Please contact the CEF office for the employee service code.
You will receive the above-processed clearances by mail. If you do them online, the first one will come back immediately, the second one may take several weeks, and the third will require additional steps and may require quite a bit of time to complete. Please make a copy of each one and mail it to the CEF of Schuylkill County office.
Mandated Reporter Training
Mandated Reporter Training is required by all club teachers (not required for helpers at this time). Please complete this training by going to www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu the training is free, but please allow three hours for completion. Once complete, print out your certificate and mail a copy to the CEF® office.
Additional CEF Office Requirements
All volunteers are asked to complete the following forms in addition to the necessary PA State information.
- Workers Compliance Agreement
- Permission to Transfer Clearance Information & Employee/Volunteer Policy.
- New volunteers are also asked to complete a Confidential Screening Form.
Volunteers are also asked to attend a training class to gather materials and get necessary information about camps and clubs.
