Have you ever thought about the impact of the “simple things”?
- A phone call at just the right time.
- A picture colored by your child or grandchild and gifted to you.
- On a busy day, making a cup of tea or coffee and having just a few minutes to yourself.
The impact of the “simple things” brings joy and a sense of worth to the receiver.
At Good News Club® we see the impact of the “simple things”:
- A riddle displayed on the flannelboard while the children eat their snack~ when club is held in the public-school cafeteria and the room is full of children waiting for the bus, the “simple thing” drew the attention of several children who are now attending club, and the attention of the teacher who was monitoring dismissal~ she even pointed out the riddle to the students!
- A stuffed puppy named, “Woofi, the Missionary Puppy” who is the club mascot. Names are drawn for the children to take turns holding Woofi during the different segments of club. The children look forward to their turn.
- Prizes for saying the Bible verse and completing the Quiet Time Quest.
- Volunteers who play a musical instrument and take it to club and play while the children sing along.
- Homemade cookies
The “simple things” given in Good News Club often cost nothing monetarily, but the impact touches the hearts of children~ drawing them to the Savior. If you have never thought about volunteering or serving on the local CEF committee, remember you don’t need to come with some great skill or finances, bring yourself and share the “simple things”.
