December 2016 Praise & Prayer
1. Thu. Tonight a party club is being held at First United Methodist Church, Pottsville 6:30-8:00 p.m. Pray for many children to attend. Pray for Shelley as she shares the Christmas Story with the children. Pray for the children’s hearts to be softened to the Message of Salvation.
2. Fri. Pray for our bus driver, Randy, his wife is having physical difficulties. Pray for wisdom for the doctors.
3. Sat. Praise for the children who are doing the Bible lessons through the mail; pray for them to continue without reminders. Pray for wisdom for Kay Artz and Danette Roberts (from Tamaqua) who grades many lessons every month and writes notes of encouragement to each student.
4. Sun. Today a Christmas Party Club is being held at the Ashland Youth Center. (4:00-5:30 p.m.) Pray for many children to attend. Pray for this club to open doors of ministry on a regular basis.
5. Mon. This is the final week for Good News Clubs that meet for a fall semester. Pray for the children to have open hearts to the Christmas Story.
6. Tue. Pray for the boys and girls to know the hope they have in Christ. “…while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:13
7. Wed. Praise for Linda Cerullo who records a story every day for the Tel-A-Story ministry. (570-621-9099)
8. Thu. Tonight a party club is being held at First Presbyterian Church, Mahanoy City 6:30-8:00 p.m. Praise for the Presbyterian church who opens their doors each month and the Gottfried family who feed and counsel the children in the neighborhood so they have an opportunity to hear the Gospel message and be challenged to grow in their faith. Pray for Linda as she shares the Christmas Story with the children. Pray for softened hearts to the Message of Salvation.
9. Fri. Tonight a Christmas Party Club is being held at Bethesda E. C. Church, Schuylkill Haven. Pray for many children to attend and for their hearts to be receptive to the Message of Salvation.
10. Sat. Today a Christmas Party Club is being held in Hegins. Pray for many children to attend and for their hearts to be receptive to the Message of Salvation.
11. Sun. It is our heart’s desire to see all the children come to know the love that can be found at a Bible teaching church in their neighborhood. Pray for us to have the opportunity to work with the churches to reach that goal.
12. Mon. Pray for the Holy Spirit to remind the children who live between two sets of parents that Jesus will never leave them, nor forsake them. (Hebrews 13:5)
13. Tue. Pray for the children: they have so many questions and they have a desire to understand the Bible stories. Pray for them to believe the Bible stories.
14. Wed. Praise God for CEF treasurer Cathy Nagle. Pray for God to bless Cathy: along with serving as treasurer Cathy teaches two Good News Clubs.
15. Thu. “Do not work so hard for Christ that you have no strength to pray, for prayer requires strength.” J. Hudson Taylor. Pray for God’s people to be people of prayer.
16. Fri. Pray for us do what is hard. “Prayer is the greatest power God has put into our hands for service – praying is harder than doing, at least I find it so, but the dynamic lies that way to advance the Kingdom.” ~Mary Slessor
17. Sat. Praise God for you, CEF’s prayer warriors. “Prayer is the supreme way to be workers together with God.” ~Wesley L. Duewel
18. Sun. Praise God for answered prayer. He moves in the deep waters, always~ pray for perseverance while we wait to witness His work.
19. Mon. Pray for boldness to share the Gospel~ God’s saving message.
20. Tue. Tonight a Christmas Party Club is being held at The Open Door Project, Pine Grove. (6:30-8:00 p.m.) Pray for many children to attend. Pray for this club to open doors of ministry on a regular basis.
21. Wed. Pray, PA State Director, Mark Wyland, will have “the mind of Christ” as he leads the CEF workers in the state. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
22. Thu. Pray for the children to remember the Lord~ that He is the reason we celebrate Christmas.
23. Fri. Pray for wisdom for CEF President Reese Kauffman. He oversees this world-wide ministry and carries a very large burden.
24. Sat. Pray for the churches to make contact with the children who attend a Good News Club: for those who do not have a church home to be invited to attend and for their parents to say, “Yes” and themselves choose to attend.
25. Sun. I pray our God will bless you with the knowledge of His Presence. Merry Christmas!
26. Mon. Praise for our office volunteers: Charles Walton, Linda Schwartz, Jean Bolton, Becky Bolton, Doris
Faust, Carol Hoy, Barb Wetzel, Nancy Guitas, Janet Kramer and Julie Frey.
27. Tue. Pray for children who want to attend Good News Club but do not have a ride home therefore, they are unable to stay for club.
28. Wed. Pray for children in Good News Club who have shared concerns about parents fighting, drug use and demons in the home.
29. Thu. Pray for Pastor Gerald (Bo) Frey. He serves as the CEF of Schuylkill County committee chairman and teaches two weekly Good News Clubs and gives many hours to the care of the CEF office building and grounds (plowing snow, fixing leaks, replacing toilets, disposing of slithery things, etc.)
30. Fri. Pray for churches to share in the CEF ministry so that they, as the church, have an additional opportunity to minister to the families in their area.
31. Sat. John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
