Linda and I taught a Good News Club® in the Minersville School District for the first time since 2007! We had seven girls and one boy. What joy! The children were eager to learn and had many questions~ good questions. We are looking forward to what God has planned.
In another club, I was sharing the lesson about the disciples getting caught in a storm on the Sea of Galilee when Jesus came walking to them on the water! Well, you should have seen the children’s faces when I put the flannelgraph figure on the board of Jesus on the water. The room became silent, their mouths literally dropped open, their eyes grew wide, and then with quiet awe they said, “He walked on the water!” I could have cried. No wonder Jesus said we need to come to Him like a little child~ with awe and wonder.
Janet Kramer, our Mailbox Club lady, received the following letter from a child:
Dear Mrs. Janet Kramer, Thank you for sending me all the lessons they have helped me come closer to God and his good-ness. I hope that you are doing well and I also hope that God has blessed you as much as he has blessed me. Today (in) my Bible I read about going to war and this is my favorite verse. Deuteronomy 20:3-4 And the priest shall say: Hear Israel: Today you are going to battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not panic or be terrified by them. For the lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory. Again thank you Mrs. Janet for the lessons”
The following is an email I received from a man in Australia: “I hope this finds you well. I just want to confirm. Is this the same Mailbox club that was once run by in Australia? I used to have a series of bible lessons via mail in my childhood.” I replied that I didn’t know, but he could contact the Mailbox Club for the information. The gentleman answered, “Maybe you are different but you have the same name and still serve the same purpose. This really made me understand the Bible better and changed my character as I grew up.”
The Word of God impacts a life for eternity.
