Does Good News Club® Make a Difference?
“Reach the parents and they will bring the children to church.”
You may have heard someone say this or you may have been the one who said it.
I just received a letter from a woman who taught Good News Club through her church at a local elementary school. Here are portions of that let- ter:
A young man began to attend her church, “I know him and the voice is distinct.” were her thoughts every time she saw him. She began to pray asking God for a way to recognize him and how she knew him. The tim- ing was right~ she remembered! This young man had attended Good News Club in Frackville. She told him that she remembered him and how excited he would be to walk to club each week. “His face lit up! Oh my, God,” he said, “You’re Miss Tina!”
Tina went on to have a discussion about his walk of faith and he confirmed that he loves to hear about Jesus. This club teacher went on to say, “It clearly reminds me of the importance of your ministry and all who volunteer. I just wanted to share~ to encourage you. We may never know whom we have helped to lead to Christ but this was a reminder to me that Christ is always working. For those who may think children are too young to understand salvation—they are wrong. God uses people to share His gospel and the Holy Spirit to impress and keep it tucked in their hearts”
George Barna in his book, Transforming Children into Spiritual Champions said, “When it comes to grasping the substance, the subtleties and implications of the Christian faith, don’t adults possess the greatest learning and intellectual capabilities? Strategically, isn’t it more important for us to equip adults so that they can use their gifts and resources to ad- vance the Kingdom? No, no, no and no. In retrospect, my view was so far off the mark that I didn’t just miss the boat—I missed the entire ocean!”

Does Good News Club® make a difference? ~ Yes! Yes! Yes! Good News Club makes a difference, not because it is a ministry of CEF® or because CEF is anything special. It makes a difference because of the Gospel that is shared in each and every club. It makes a difference because GOD uses it to reach the children with the message of salvation.
Thank you for your support of CEF of Schuylkill County. You are helping to make a difference. A difference that God, every now and then, gives us the privilege of glimpsing. Pray for the children, God is working in their lives.
Reaching the children, Shelley
