Let’s Talk About Time
Time.
It takes time.
Time for God’s Spirit to soften hearts.
Time for the Gospel to take root in the soul of a child.
Time.
That’s what we have been witnessing at one of our Good News Clubs. Time. God using time to awaken a child to her need for a Savior. God’s Spirit, in His perfect time, moving in the heart of a child to receive the Gospel message. A girl, I’ll call her Susie, received Christ as her Savior in the fall. Now is the time to watch and see if there will be any fruit. Susie comes to club excited. She answers review questions, sings the songs with a smile on her face, and is glad that her sister, brother, and nephew have come to club. She is memorizing the Bible verses and completing her take home papers! Oh the joy!
Time.
It makes a difference.
A committee member shared with me the following story of what giving time looks like: “Before Covid we had a girl in GNC for a couple of years. Because her home was on my way to church, I offered to pick her up. I did this for at least two years off and on. This girl still calls me to see how I am doing. She is 15 now and a sophomore in high school.”
Time.
Do you have time to give for the soul of a child? Maybe there is one child in your neighborhood that you could bring to camp. Do you have time to give two hours a week to help at a Good News Club® in your neighborhood? Will you consider giving a tithe of your time to CEF of Schuylkill County? The wonderful thing about the Word of God is that it always produces fruit…
in time, so your time is never wasted.
Trusting in God, who is the Creator of time,
