“If we bring our bikes, is there a place where we can lock them?”
“What do we do there?”
“Is it hard?
I hope we don’t have to memorize the times tables. I’m not very good at that.”
These were the questions that two neighbor girls asked me when I invited them to Good News Club .
Galatians 6:9 says, And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Having a Good News Club at our new office location is a reminder to us of what it means to reap if we do not lose heart.
Many times we think of “doing good” as being involved in some kind of visible ministry. However, I want to suggest prayer as a way of “doing good.”
For years we have asked you to pray for school districts where we do not have a CEF® presence in the form of a Good News Club. Minersville was one of those locations.
Since our move to Minersville, our prayers have been to host a GNC in our neighborhood. Your prayers and ours were part of the “doing good”. And now God has allowed us to begin to reap.
Our first Good News Club at the office brought four girls from the neighborhood. Two of the girls were especially excited about club. It was like teaching spiritual sponges! The second week, those four invited four more!
Now they have been asking more questions, better ones:
“What does it mean that Jesus rose from the dead?”
“Why did God die?”
“Is this Bible for me to keep?”
“Can I have some more invitations to invite more kids?”
We appreciate your prayers and gifts for this ministry more than you know.
Please don’t grow weary or lose heart because it is time for reaping.
