Have you ever noticed how change often comes with joy and sadness? At CEF® change happens often. Summer missionaries who served for years, graduate from high school or college and move on to marriage or careers, staff does the same, and the committee moves on to retirement and new life changes.
Gale Hurst, who has serves on our local committee, recently turned in her resignation. She and her husband, Dale, are moving to Florica to be closer to Gale’s family after many years of living up north. Gale stated the following in her letter of resignation: “I have enjoyed my years on the committee and relish the friendships I have developed. It was also a delight serving with Cathy at Good News Club and previously helping at Good News Day Camp. The work you do is so important in the Kingdom of God.”
She had great wisdom in decision making, administrative skills, and a passion for children to know Jesus as their Savior. Dale served on the building sub-committee and worked along with the rest of the committee members to replace the basement floor, and he was instrumental in repairing the plumbing issues in the bathrooms. Committee members are valuable people in the work of the Lord through the ministry of CEF of Schuylkill County. We will miss Gale, but we are filled with joy for her and Dale as they move on to another great adventure with our Lord.
Many of you remember Jerusha McCarthy who served with CEF of Schuylkill County as a volunteer, summer missionary, and staff. Last summer she moved to Wisconsin to finish Bible college and in the process became engaged and just got married! It is with great joy that I introduce to you Mr. and Mrs. Gabe Power. Pray for Gabe and Jerusha as they serve the Lord with Ethnos 360.
Change~ it sure does keep life exciting! But in the midst of all of life’s changes there is One who remains a sure foundation~ “For I the LORD do not change.” Malachi 3:6
With joy,
Shelley
