May 2021 Newsletter – Resting in God

CEF of Schuylkill County is in the midst of many changes. On Saturday, May 1 we will be moving from the Hegins location to our new office in Minersville. Please make note of the address and phone number changes. The physical address of the CEF® office is 101 High Road, Pottsville PA 17901 (Just off Route 901~ West of Minersville) The mailing address is: P.O. Box 486, Minersville PA 17954. The new phone number is 570-544-8042.
Along with the move, we are experiencing a staff change. In the fall Jimmie Lu’s mother, Betty Yetter, fell and it led to much testing and the discovery of a malignant brain tumor. After more tests, it was decided that Betty would have surgery to remove the tumor. While the surgery went well, Betty did not recover to life on this side of Heaven. On Easter Sun-day, the Lord took Betty Home. Due to the change in life circumstances and her physical difficulties, Jimmie Lu has decided to resign her position with CEF of Schuylkill County. Please pray for Jimmie Lu and Elizabeth as they adjust to life without their mom and grandma. Pray for Linda and me as we adjust to ministry with-out Jimmie Lu.
This is true no matter the circumstances: God is good. During this season of change, Jerusha McCarthy is working in the office helping with the Child Protection Clearances and various other office jobs. In June and July Jerusha will be serving as a summer missionary and Katie Burian will be working in the office. God has shown Himself to us in many various ways: He has brought on needed staff, made a way for the pews to be sold~ four used in a church coffee house in Buck’s County, eight will be seating in an Irish fish and chip restaurant in the Philadelphia area, two of the pews my husband refinished to keep in the new office and the others went to various individuals, the pulpit and hymn boards went to a church in Harrisburg, and the large chairs will be used at a local business for photography purposes.
We rest in this truth recorded in Numbers 23:19 “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?”
Resting in our unchanging God,
Shelley
