Dear Friend of CEF,
Many years ago, when I was a summer missionary, Proverbs 24:10-12 became my verse for the summer. I love how it is written in the NASB.
If you are slack in the day of distress, your strength is limited. Deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back. If you say, “See, we did not know this,” does He not consider it who weighs the hearts? And does He not know it who keeps your soul? And will He not render to man according to his work?
Many words in this verse describe our world today: the day of distress, people being taken away to death and staggering to slaughter. As the verse says, we must not pretend to not know, but to hold them back from destruction. Child Evangelism Fellowship of Schuylkill County exists for this reason. And you can help us, if in no other way, through your prayers.
Will you pray with me for this summer? We have some exceptional opportunities.
The first week of July we will be partnering with First United Methodist Church in Pottsville to evangelize the children in Pottsville through Open Air Ministry at three locations. Please pray for good weather and many children and families to attend. That same week we will be having a virtual 5-Day Club® for a Chinese School in Philadelphia.
This summer is the first year we will be having Good News Day Camp® at Higher-Ups Park in Ashland. This camp will be held the first week in August. We are asking God to send us many children and enough volunteers to help.
There will not be a newsletter for August due to the busy camp season. Instead, you are receiving prayer calendars for July and August with this mailing.
I appreciate your prayers and support for this ministry as we seek to rescue those “staggering to slaughter.”
Sincerely,
Linda McCarthy
