She went to each volunteer and asked if she could have a hug. After receiving all her hugs she announced, “This is now my favorite jacket…..because you all have hugged me in it.”
Children today are longing to feel loved, accepted and special. Through clubs and camps, CEF has innumerable opportunities to meet this longing in children by sharing with them the love of Jesus.
With these opportunities comes the need for volunteers. We are aware that in the fall we will need more helpers, teachers, and a bus driver. We wonder whose heart the Lord will move to fill this need. Will it be you?
“I am so happy to see your face again,” I said to a boy who had missed coming to a few clubs. “Are you happy to see my face again?” asked his faithful sister?
I am always happy to see the faces of children who come to club. They are faces of expectation; hoping to find truth, love, Jesus, and an adult who cares. Will you be that one?
Linda

The following is from a Mailbox Club student:
“Dear Mrs. Artz, I want to thank you for all the years you sent me Mailbox Club lessons, I really benefited from them. But for a while now I have been learning a lot at church and my summer camps that I often hear in my Mailbox Club lessons. And with my move coming up I feel it’s time to discontinue the lessons. But, again, I want to thank you for teaching me more about God through these lessons. But, something you can keep doing is praying for my family and I as we move and try to find a church that we all can worship at and that has a good youth group. You can also pray for my family as we adjust to moving to a new area and new people. Just a couple weeks ago on Easter I was baptized, which for me was one of the most proud moments of my life; it was such a joyful time. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for my life. My dream job would be working on a farm, but I also love landscaping. Any work with machines and manicured properties fascinates me. I can’t exactly say that either of those is God’s calling for me, but, I truly enjoy helping others by manicuring their lawns (which may sound funny, but its true). Thank you for all your work in my life and other people’s lives. In Christ,
Countless lives have been touched through the Mailbox ClubTM ministry.
Summer Missionaries 2017:
Katie Burian is the wife of Ray Burian and the mom of Alexander, Joyce, Bennett and Cooper. She spends the school year teaching at Upper Dauphin School District. Katie is returning for her 16th summer! She will be working in the office: setting up the teams for Good News Day Camp, making the contact between camp prayer warriors and campers, sending out sponsor letters, keeping track of the summer missionary support, and helping in any other capacity needed.
Elizabeth (EB) Smallwood is returning for her 4th summer with CEF. She has completed her junior year at Houghton College. She will be serving as a Bible teacher and co-director at Good News Day Camp. EB is a gifted Bible teacher and demonstrates strong leadership qualities. She has a strong desire to see the boys and girls come to know Jesus as their personal Savior.
Also Returning for her 4th summer is Mary Gottfried. Mary has just completed her freshman year at Liberty University. She had the privilege this past December of traveling to Kenya with a team of CEF workers. Mary’s love of Jesus shines through in all that she does. She is a hard worker and has a willingness to learn. She will also be serving in a leadership role this summer by mentoring the new missionaries at 5-Day Club and helping at camp.
Our second year summer missionary is Regina Miller. Gina is a bundle of energy! Her enthusiasm is catchy and we are very glad to have her back. Gina will be starting her junior year at Tri-Valley High School this fall. She is gifted at sharing the Gospel and is a creative mission’s teacher. Gina will be stepping up to a leadership role by serving as the camp recreation director.
Our team for the summer is being joined by Jerusha McCarthy and Mackenzie Werez. Jerusha has completed her sophomore year as a home school student and Mackenzie will be starting her junior year of high school at Schuylkill Haven Area School District. Both young ladies are gifted communicators and have a burden for the lost to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
