This truth is comforting. It always has been, but with recent events it is even more a place of safety. On March 13 everything changed.
We had planned to reorganize the lending library in April after the club season was over. So when the news came of a two week shutdown, we got to work on the library with the hope of reconnecting with the children after the two week closure. As you know, that did not happen.
Our hearts broke. We didn’t even get to say “goodbye.” Today, as I write this, my eyes fill with tears. I can see their faces and I long to be with them. How will they continue to grow in their knowledge of God? Who is going to tell them about the God who loves them so much that He gave His Son to pay the price for their sin? Who? Remember, many do not attend church.
Our burden kept growing. We had to do something for “our kids” ~ the children of Schuylkill County. So we took a deep breath and I recorded a Bible lesson using flannel-graph and put it up on our Facebook page: Child Evangelism Fellowship of Schuylkill County.
Linda, who has a great heart for missions, began to record a continuing story of Hudson Taylor, missionary to China.
Thank God for how He gifted Elizabeth and His timing to bring her on as staff~ she is the techie of the group and she created the intros and endings for each video.
Jimmie Lu loves crafts and created a video showing the children how to make a Gospel flower. Several years ago Jimmie Lu brought in a container of puppets. Well, that wiped out another comfort zone as we dared another unknown~ puppet skits.
We now have a YouTube site: CEFSchuylkill where you can find all our videos including two using puppets. (Our creative juices are flowing and another puppet video is in the works.)
We are still hopeful for the summer ministries to continue while praying for sensitive hearts to the Spirit’s leading. I have said several times that my comfort zone is so stretched I can no longer see the lines on the field.
To God be the glory!
Shelley
