“Have you heard of Moses? “No.”
“Have you heard of the Ten Commandments?”
“No.”
I was teaching the lesson series about Joshua and the city of Jericho. As an introduction to the lesson I was reminding the children about Moses, how God used him to rescue the people of Israel out of slavery in Egypt and how God had given the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.
But it wasn’t a reminder. As I sit here typing this letter, I see before me the puzzled looks and shaking heads of children who have never heard of Moses or the Ten Commandments. These were the children who attended the club in Pottsville ~ not on the foreign mission field, not in some big city ~ children right here in your neighborhood. My heart aches for the children and the many who have never heard the stories of God’s people that are recorded in the Bible.
As I was teaching I wondered if any of those sitting before me would believe in the Savior. What type of soil was the seed of the Gospel falling upon? Would the aroma of Christ be sweet to their souls and bring life?
I find encouragement in the word of Paul to the church at Corinth:
“For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing. To the one we are an aroma that brings death; to the other, an aroma that brings life.”
(2 Corinthians 2:15-16)
“God’s message, delivered through us, remains consistent, but the way people receive it means the difference between life and death.” Russel L. Meek
This Word from the Lord is an encouragement because it reminds me that God is sovereign. The Message of Christ is a sweet aroma, it is in God’s hands to whom it is life or death.
Pray to God asking Him to make the Aroma of Christ one that brings life to the children, not only in Pottsville but all throughout Schuylkill County ~ the mission field that is right outside your door.
Spreading the aroma of Christ,

Christmas Project~ New Windows
As you know, Primrose Bible Church, Minersville closed their doors as a church. But minis- try continues at the location as they gave CEF of Schuylkill County the property: the building and grounds. In May we moved from Deep Creek Road, Hegins to 101 High Road, Minersville. The building is solid and is working out very well as it serves as offices, a training center, meeting place for the committee and weekly prayer times, host for Vacation Bible® School and a local Good News Club .
That said, there are a few weak spots and one of those is the windows. They are old and most do not open or stay open without aid. Plus, they are frosted which does not allow us to see if someone is at the top office door and it hinders parents from seeing in to know that their children are in a safe location. The committee has prayerfully decided that replacing the eight windows upstairs is a priority. The cost is $900 per window and includes installation.
Will you prayerfully consider giving to this needed project? Thank you.
